Yes, you are paying for exclusive use of the grass margins to enjoy alone or with your guests. During your allocated slot you can walk/run the various grass paths as much as you like or sit and enjoy the tranquil views and wildlife. You need to allow time to park, walk and then leave within your time slot.
How to make a booking
Booking a visit guarantees you exclusive use of these grass margins for the duration of your visit, alone, or with your guests to walk, run, sit, watch, listen, picnic, read, paint or daydream. The only possible interruption you may have is seeing farmer Jack drive around in his green Land Rover in the distance and tractors working in adjacent fields.
You can book a 1 hour or 2 hour slot, the price of which will vary depending on the size of your party, as shown. Please ensure you allow enough time to leave the car park before the next guests arrive and do not arrive too early so visits do not overlap.
After booking you will receive a confirmation email, and then 1 hour ahead of your visit a reminder email. This will confirm the code you need to unlock the gate to give you entrance to the walk. This email will also contain a map showing the location of the grass margins available to you which can be downloaded and saved on your phone. These paths will also be signed around the routes.
Please read our terms and conditions before making your booking.
Book your visit todayWho can I bring with me?
You can visit alone or as a group.
We have categorized group sizes as follows:
Solo/Couple (1-2 adults)
Small Group (3-5 adults)
Large Group (6-10 adults)
Infants and children under 5 years of age are not counted.
Children aged 5-16 years are permitted at no extra charge providing they are accompanied by a paying adult, subject to a maximum of 2 children per adult.
Limited dogs are welcome.
This is not a secure dog park. The aim is to provide a safe space for human recreation, with or without dogs. We have chosen to restrict the number of dogs though and ask you to respect this and only let your dog off the lead if you have control of them.
How much parking is there?
Parking for 3/4 cars only. Please do not bring more cars than this per visit as you cannot park on the road, verge or entrance to the track in case you obstruct farm traffic.
Is there any lighting or field shelters?
No, the route or the car park are not lit and the site is only open during daylight hours.
There are no shelters or cover – if it rains you will get wet so please wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
What is the policy on rubbish and dog waste?
Ultimately we need to keep our farm clean and tidy and the paths how you would want to find them, so please do not drop any litter or leave dog mess. Please bring bags to collect your dog mess and either take them home or leave them in the bin provided at the bottom of the track. Even if your dog fowls in the field rather than on the grass margin please collect the waste as this can be dangerous for sheep. At the picnic area there is also a general rubbish bin which you are welcome to use.
Is there any water?
No, we do not provide any water.
Can I book the facility to use for my business?
We recognise that the facility would be an ideal site for some businesses to use, for things such as walking therapy, dog training, drawing/painting, exercise classes and wildlife photography for example. Accommodating these is our intention, but the booking must adhere to the parking and number of guest restrictions. If you need a bespoke arrangement to suit your requirements please contact us so we can discuss how these can be accommodated.
Can I cancel or reschedule my booking?
Yes. Please contact us at info@woodfarmwalks.co.uk to reschedule or cancel. Refunds are only offered if you contact us more than 48 hours from the date and time of the booking.
Is it secure when I enter my bank/card details onto your website?
When you make a payment to us it is facilitated by a payment provider called Stripe. Before setting up we researched various payment providers and this was highly recommended to us as reliable and secure. Our own research backed this up calling it ‘rock-solid’ and as good as PayPal with advanced encryption and powerful fraud detection tools. Nothing is foolproof but we believe this is as secure a provider as they come in the current market. However, if you want to book but this puts you off please just email us at info@woodfarmwalks.co.uk and we can take a payment in another way. Happy to be flexible.
Is the route suitable for pushchairs/buggy's?
Pushchairs/buggy’s are welcome but ordinary pushchairs/buggy’s usually used on pavements will struggle in places. Decent off-road/all terrain/running buggy’s should be fine, but when the grass is slightly longer will take more pushing!
Can I bring a picnic?
Yes! We have created a new picnic area with 2 large picnic benches at the far end of the bottom field. You are welcome to bring additional chairs and blankets. You can bring whatever food and drink you wish but no BBQs. Any rubbish can be left in the bin provided.
What are the rules with dogs?
Fully vaccinated dogs are welcome and providing the owners have full control of them they are permitted off lead. We ask that you stick on or close to the grass margins and ensure you always collect all dog mess.
Please see the T&Cs for full rules on prohibited breeds.
Cattle graze one of the adjacent fields so you may want to consider putting your dog on a lead when close this this, and, at certain times of the year when we have sheep grazing cover crops within the fields we will only allow dogs on leads. This is likely to be January and February but we will always publicise this when the exact grazing schedule is known.
